    We have redesigned the Search Bitcoin UI to make it easier for people to leave vendor reviews. Anyone can now write a review about a particular vendor they have had experience with, and people will be able to see those reviews before leaving our website.

    All comments are handled through Disqus. This will allows vendors to subscribe to the thread about their website, and to monitor what people are saying.

    We hope that the new changes make our website easier to use. Feel free to provide us with any feedback :-)

    Hi Jostmey,
    Quite a while ago you posted on bitcointalk about making bitcoin purchases easier for merchants.

    I am the lead dev on MultiBit so have been approaching it from the user experience side of things.
    Have a look at this YouTube Gary Rowe and I put together recently:

    We think bitcoin swatches would make it really easy to buy online. You could also surf on the 'big' computer and then pay with your wallet on your Android phone as the QR codes are standard bitcoin uri format.

    Is this something you would be interested in working together on to get a common approach ?

    That's pretty neat. But why is it better than a clickable URI? For paying via your phone, MultiBit can display a QRcode for the phone to scan, rather than the website. It's not really obvious without watching the video that you can drag/drop the swatch.

    That looks very interesting and probably could be integrated in some way, if not just an offshoot of what he is currently offering.

    Anyhow - imagine I want you to pay me 5.6 BTC for something I did for you.  

    Which is easier to understand:

    They both represent the same information but the swatch is easier for people to use (in my opinion).

    Once you have seen one swatch, the distinctive layout makes any other that you see immediately obvious what it is.

    Did you file a one-drag-buy patent already cause the only benefit I see is in avoiding the one-click-buy patent by amazon Wink

    Else the one click is definitely superior.

    There is no patent on it no!   :-)

    There is a difference between a drag-to-MultiBit and a clickable link.
    In the first one, all the control is in *your* application on the client, so nobody sees your private keys.
    With the click the HTTP GET goes back to the merchant.   How much do they know about you and your wallet ?

    I would rather keep my private keys to myself and only send out signed transactions.

    Huh??? Ultra-Huh?HuhHuh!?! Who's talking about outbound communication of any private key stuff?Huh

    I assume you misread this as requiring a private key? If you sell a book you generate a receiving address, 1GNQ5zGKBKwx6TQXPra7fhkQ33wBSq8cw9 for example. You set a price, 1.25BTC for example and you pack it into a swatch ... or such an url.

    You can then make the bitcoin client consume the bitcoin-scheme and tada ... click should work. On android it already does.

    Yes - you are right as long as there is a client consuming bitcoin uris.

    Hi all,

    I've just tried to get this to work in Chrome 12 (our office won't upgrade further for some reason):

    but it throws up an error message about an unknown protocol. I'm not a browser expert, so could someone guide me how to register the appropriate protocol handler so I can get an external application to work with it?

    Also, my friend is stuck on IE6 at his work and can't edit any settings on the browser due to some policy restrictions. No chance of changing the registry. He's got Java and MultiBit though. How do I configure it for him?

    I would endorse it on my website, and even work toward embedding it on Search Bitcoin.

    However, I do not have time to work on the code for the shopping cart software at this time :-(
