In an economic sense,
An INVESTMENT is the purchase of goods that are not consumed today but are used in the future to create wealth.
In finance
An INVESTMENT is a monetary asset purchased with the idea that the asset will provide income in the future or will later be sold at a higher price for a profit.
I really don't want to turn these into an economics class but the both definition of what investments are clearly should settle the argument of whether BTC is truly an investment or not.
Well don't worry dirisu2018, there's no arguing about bitcoin as an investment.
Though many may point out that investment was not part of the bitcoin design, it became an investment nonetheless.
In fact, bitcoin even topped Forbes and Bloomberg's list of best investment (where bloomberg named bitcoin as their worst investment a year before it topped their currency table). Bitcoin funds even came to light in the state of Jersey and is approved by their financial services commision.
And with the continuing growth of value (inspite the month after month dips that we are witnessing), there is no mistaking that bitcoin did become an investment though the original design was simply to be a digital or electronic cash.
Let's just all hope that bitcoin continues to be a positive and potent investment and remember that even with dips it has been making, bitcoin remains the most valuable cryptocurrency of them all.
