I have merited the post because I think there is at least a
little bit of truth in the OP's statement.
This forum is a good example, there are lots of people from different countries and regions, with different religions, all sharing a common interest. The difference to things like music - which
also unites people in some way, as you can see in worldwide fan groups - is that money is a more "generic" interest, a basic need of everyone, and so the potential of adoption is higher. Even if "adoption" today means basically "try to get rich quick"

And hate is reduced when people know about other persons which share their interests, even if they live at the other extreme of the world.
Bitcoin is even more powerful in this case as social networks like Facebook or Twitter - these tend often to form localized or very ideology-centred communities. Money - like Bitcoin - is more "neutral" and thus has more potential to unite.
But let's not get naive, Bitcoin will not save the world, it can only improve it a little bit. And disputes between altcoin tribes, maximalists and minimalists, big-blockers and small-blockers are in some ways pretty similar to religious conflicts
