I was really surprised that Afghanistan was beaten so badly with Ireland. I assumed before the start of the match that Afghanistan will win this match not only this match I thought Afghanistan will win this T20 series. Now the performance of Afghanistan's first T20 match has made me worry a lot. You are right that 149 target was not a big target in T20 format. The main point is that in this match, Afghanistan's bowlers performed fairly well, but Afghanistan's batting line showed completely irresponsible performance. Both their openers failed to perform and not a single top order batsman could play well. And that's why Afghanistan had to lose this match.

You are right most people are not right in cricket because before the first t20 match of ireland vs afghanistan i thought that surely afghanistan team is doing well in t20 format they will easily win the t20 match against ireland but i  i was wrong  Afghanistan team batted very badly against Ireland as Afghanistan's top batsmen were bowled out for just 111 runs. Ireland Won by 38 runs in the first T20 match. Congratulations to the Ireland team for a fantastic performance.

The previous two matches between these two teams were very competitive. However, the team that batted first was able to win. Islamabad United won the toss and decided to field in today's match. Batting first, perhaps Islamabad United could have provided a bigger target.

However, Peshawar Zalmi batted very poorly in their last match against Multan Sultans. From the beginning of the innings, the batsmen of Peshawar Zalmi were batting slowly. Amazing performance from Ireland in the first T20I against Afghanistan. They could get to only 149/6, which can be considered as a sub-par total at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. But then, the Irish bowlers had other ideas. Afghanistan top order was wrecked by Josh Little, Barry McCarthy and Mark Adair. And then the lower order and tail was cleaned up by Ben White. We are talking about a bowler who has an average of 109.00 in test matches and 118.00 in ODIs. But in T20Is, his bowling average is 20.50.

We all had high expectations from Babar Azam in today's match but he failed to do that. In such a high voltage match the captain should always bat with a cool head but Babar Azam failed to do that today as a result of which he was dismissed for just 25 runs off 22 balls today. But his other teammate Peshawar Zalmi opening batsman Saim Ayub has been on fire and has already completed his half century. Saim Ayub scored 64 runs off 32 balls in his innings with 4 sixes and 6 fours even his batting strike rate was impressive. Islamabad United have already scored 98 runs for one wicket in 10 overs the way they are scoring runs per over at the moment I think is enough for them.

With nine wickets still in hand and ten overs to go, the Peshawar Zalmi team's batsmen will now try to play with their hands fully open.Siam Ayub in particular will now have to play a critical role to help his team get a big score. Since this is an eliminator match if Peshawar Zalmi can score 210 or 220 runs in the first innings then Islamabad United will be under a lot of pressure when they come to bat.

But still, Afghanistan did try to recover. It was just nearly impossible in the end. This was the first match of the three-match series. Afghanistan will have to perform far better in the second match if they want to stay alive in the series.

Things are getting very exciting and things might go both ways right now. Imad Wasim and Haider Ali are still on the crease, they need to score 57 runs from 30 balls, which is very much possible especially when Imad Wasim is on the crease. But lack of wickets is also a concern for Islamabad United. 2 overs from Luke Wood and Khurram Shazad are remaining which may play a big role in deciding the match. 1 over from Aamir Jamal is also remaining. I think these would be the last 5 overs.

I would say if Islamabad United could keep their wickets and play calmly, they would win. But it will not be easy against the bowlers like Luke Wood and Khurram Shazad who have a very good economy in this match.
