West Indies women's team lost this match due to poor batting by top order batsmen. The top order batsmen batted like fools despite being quite experienced. In particular I would say Stefanie Taylor, Aaliyah Alleyne and opener Hayley Matthews batted very badly. Hayley Matthews scored 15 off 21 balls. Taylor managed to collect just 14 runs from 20 balls. And Alleyne collected 4 runs from 11 balls. Besides, Chedean Nation could not add any runs to the scoreboard from 5 balls at the crucial time. Due to such bad batting of the batsmen, the West Indies team has to be defeated in this match.
I really do not understand what was going on in the minds of the West Indies women. It was a semi final match, and the required run rate to win was a little over 6, what was the reason for them to take the game slowly and lost wickets and lose in the end

If they had played aggressively right from the start of the match, then even if they had lost a few wickets, the runs left would have been fewer and there would have been less pressure on the upcoming West Indies batsmen. The captain, Hayley Matthews, started the innings so slowly and batted with the strike of around 70 and set the negative tone for the rest of the team to follow.
The celebration of the New Zealand team was worth watching.
