At one point they do have a right there, I mean this is a casino and if you do not trust the casino than you don't have to do anything with them, but if you trust a casino enough to gamble or use signature or anything related really than they shouldn't be asked to use an escrow. Think about it this way, someone who is reputable in bitcointalk could still steal your money one day because they are literally just one person, can casinos scam you as well? Sure, there have been some but we have seen people who escrowed small amounts and got bigger and bigger and stole money eventually as well.
Hence, in the end no one is trustworthy in bitcointalk unless you really give them a chance. Bethash should have been able to do whatever they want without escrow in my own opinion.
