Our win agains China help’s us to gain the momentum and of course the confidence.
For sure, Jordan is underestimating us since they beat us already in the world cup and also in the Asian games.
We’re lucky that the shooting of Jordan is off and of course, the defense pattern of Gilas was superb. Despite of being guarded heavily, Brownlee still manage to be the top scorer of the game he deserved our big respect and also with the whole coaching staff.

They really can't underestimate the Philippines, especially after what we did to China. Jordan might have thought that China was the team to beat, and lo and behold, it was the Philippines who beat them. You know, regardless of how many points a team wins by, it still counts as just one win. It's clear that a losing team will make adjustments to correct their mistakes, which is exactly what Tim Cone did for the Finals.

I've got to say, Jordan seems like good sports. It's a bit different from China and Iran, who didn't take the losses very well. And China's fans, they're really taking it personally. They just can't stand the Philippines winning, so when their team was out, they switched their support to Jordan.


Yeah, that was pretty obvious, but we have to cut him some slack. I heard he was coming back from an injury, so maybe he was just getting back into his groove. But let's give credit where it's due – he was seriously impressive at the free-throw line. I can't even remember him missing a free throw in the finals.

Yeah, that's a keen observation. JMF was definitely a mismatch against the bigs of China, especially if they were driving the ball in from the outside. He might have struggled to stop them, given that he isn't as athletic as some of the other bigs. But it's all part of the chess match, you know? Coach Tim saw our weakness there, which is why he brought in another big man, making the team more unpredictable. Gilas has a lot of threats from the outside, and one of the reasons we won was our accurate 3-point shooting, which is quite the opposite of Jordan, as they had a tough time in that department.

The system brought by  Coach Tim is very effective and also his players who played are good enough and deserve for the golf medal. But the game between china and  Philippines are most memorable game as we all know and saw that from 20+ points behind Philippines manage to comeback and win by 1 point and by the help of Justin brownlee of course he is fit for the system of coach Tim as we all know that they build already their chemistry.

I remember one of the interview of coach Tim after winning the game against China, he said that he already losing hope but by looking at his players who still doing their jobs and still fighting to survive he said to JBL to take everything on his hands and with that go signal we've seen it all how the connection between the coach and main alpha, just like seeing Phil and MJ when they are running out of time, the ball will be on MJ's hands and he will take care of everything, same thing with how determine JBL to win and the rest is what we are enjoying now, winning the gold!

China got shock about seeing how the table turns in favor to gilas and they didn't even give a fouls on dying minutes of the game to recover and possible even getting a chance to tied up the game. But they let the game flow and Pilipinas take the win, if they China didn't get panic in that situation maybe they still have a chance to win but faith dictate all of it and declared as a victor that's why many Chinese fans got hurt with their lose since they think that they already win on that game.

That's why Gilas boys feel the anger of chinese fans and boo them on Jordan final showdown, but it doesn't give any effect since Gilas create a history and get the gold medal for their country. The 60+ years record they didn't get a gold in asian games has been erased out and this is a big win for them.

That’s our next goal for now let’s wait for the homecoming of Gilas because for sure the party is not yet over.
Gilas did a great job and whatever they’ve said against Gilas it doesn’t matter anymore because we will bring home the Gold. We should also appreciate the players since the World Cup as they’ve also contribute to the practice of Gilas team and prepared the whole coaching staff for this moment.

I also read that aside from doing the offense, Chris Newsome was being assigned to guard Jordan's main man Rondae Hollis Jefferson outside the perimeter and there's Gilas Big man as a backup if RHJ will penetrate the paint. There might be a mismatch but Coach Tim Cone knows it might create a different play to the Jordan's offense. It's effective and Newsome did a great job on that.

I'm now thinking what if Dwight Ramos, Kai Sotto and Rhenz Abando played with Justin Brownlee? I'm looking forward to seeing that.

Because Coach Tim was focused more on coaching PBA, he knows every well what would be the effective strategy for our locals.

Since most Gilas' roster are PBA players, Coach Tim finds a way to know the best spot where he assigned a certain player.

And coaching Justin Brownlee in Ginebra for years, that make Coach Tim as the effective head coach of Gilas Pilipinas.

In less than a month, we'll be getting back into the PBA action, and I'm super stoked! Finally, we get to see the new talents who got drafted this year in action. They had to push the start date because they were giving priority to international competitions, but since there's nothing on the international front, it looks like nothing's gonna hold back the return of the PBA.

Sadly, we won't be seeing the BAD this season since the team's been disbanded. I'm sure fans would have loved to welcome them, especially after they gave the Ginebra Gin Kings such a tough challenge in their first attempt. But hey, I'm still hoping for some top-notch entertainment, maybe even more than before!
