Hopefully they will not sell the franchise to SMB or MVP group since it will kill more the league since for sure there's another independent team will leave the league next to alaska. And just wondering about what company got interest to buy a franchise on a dying and in balance league? At the high of pandemic for sure they struggle what alaska encounter especially if they are independent company.
As per the report, there are 3 companies that are willing to buy the franchise. Those are not named yet officially but rumor stated that it might be Chooks-to-Go or Family's Brand Sardines.
I'm just becoming curious now if there are more teams that are willing to buy franchises, it means more companies like to enter the PBA. Now that a strong company like Alaska retires, PBA should now be open more team expansion.
Alaska is one of the strongest foundations that the PBA has. It should be replaced with more teams to cover what's lost.
It is sad to see them go, but aside from business concern for sure there's something more personal, that's why they decided to go.
With those mentioned names, if I'm not mistaken, Chooks will have a hard time to acquire Alaska's franchise business interest from SMB
and with how we know the politics inside this organization, Cojuangco will not let any competitions with their business. I can be wrong with
my opinion, but let see if what will happen after.
