Bitcoin is never going to be extinct
I believe its consensus will be higher and higher in the future.
If that's just an expression to how long bitcoin would exist, then we can consider it right because bitcoin is still in its early stages. But if it meant literally, that's impossible. There would always be something that would be better than the present. You'll never know, few years from now, there might exist a coin that would, or would not have the blockchain technology, with far more faster transactions, more secured algorithms, and other advancements. We cannot assume that Bitcoin would not pass away, it's just that the time to get to that point is still too long.
If there will ever be anything better than btc, it will come to coexist with btc, I don't think it will be enough to out rightly wipe btc from existence, for all will know that could happen many years to come and possibly by then btc has been widely spread and used by many in that period, so how easy do you think a new coin can come and replace that to the point of erasing btc completely?
To me I think btc will be very much around because everyday many people, institutions, organizations, companies e.t.c are accepting btc into their business and that says alot.
