It is an aggressive business model yet a successful one at it. But so was apple inc when steve jobs was alive. After his death. Not so much.
If they want to be number one they have to be this way and it is just savvy business. I am a bit surprised there isnt a disney alt coin yet.
Sort of like what ripple is doing and if they wanted they could buy it up and adopt that to their business for their entrance into the cryptocurrency space. Just pick and choose what they want to keep and what they dont want just like a customer is doing on their plus+ service in picking a show they want to watch.
With 2 million subscribers presigned up before launch. They have a lot of eyes for which ever they plan to do if they do create their own token for payment of their services or just adopt a pre existing one.

There is no need for them to built their own crypto, nor accept cryptocurrencies. Other than the risk of a crackdown from the government, there's no huge benefit either. VISA/Mastercard is probably fast and secure enough for its purpose. They won't risk their business just for the sake of crypto.

$69 yearly subscription fees seems reasonable! If I comapre it to their competitors, netflix costs more as it starts from $9 monthly and goes up to $16 monthly. But the business here is not about the payment method, it's about the content!

I personally don't think that adding crypto will do any additional benefit to them! But yes, it will boost the reputation of cryptocurrencies if Disney choose to add one! So in a way, cryptos will get more visibility to the world population if Disney starts to accept them! On the other hand, Disney can expect to get few more subscribers, but it won't certainly explode their business!

It would pretty much reverse first, then go back to Disney. What I mean is that when they decided to include cryptocurrencies, the first benefactor would be these cryptocurrencies, and when the public accepted and adopted to this new payment method, then it might increase Disney's sales and also their profit. It would be a win win situation for each party

No, I doubt if Crypto or Bitcoin acceptance as a payment option, would boost adoption. This service is still very new and it is entering a already saturated market with very good competition like NetFlix. Netflix invested 1 Billion Dollar into the development of the proprietary codec that they use for their video streaming and it is far better than most of their competitors.

An alternative payment option should offer some kind of incentive for people to switch, so if Disney plus+ just offer it as an alternative payment option without any incentive, then people will not switch. They will have to give a small discount to people paying with Bitcoin to boost adoption.  

in my opinion the Disney project will definitely accept crypto because there are now many film projects competing to advance the quality of their projects to be more easily adopted by the public, especially in today's highly sophisticated technology that allows some people to prefer crypto for their payments, and I hope Disney will be a good project and can entertain us when we are bored with a good film screening.

I think they should take every advantage they could take against their competitors. They started late in streaming services. Netflix already has a wide user base while disney+ is just starting. And after their buggy launch, they'll need every slight edge they can take.

I very much doubt that Disney will support cryptocurrencies.

Disney+ already have a named and supporters with or without crypto as payment it can be used by many. The one who will benefit if they will accept is us than Disney companies. Netflix however didn't accept crypto too but you can buy account from crypto users if Disney+ will be access by those who create subscription account and accepts crypto then we can buy from them.
