Would there be a way for to pull the post numbers vs. deleted posts?
I have scraped
most posts. You could check
each post and see if it still exists on the forum, but that requires excessive scraping just to come up with the number of deleted posts in a month.
Yes the forum only had a 170,000 post increase but if in May there were 20,000 deleted posts and in June there were 35,000 deleted posts it's still down just not as much.
A better comparison would be to compare both months after a certain amount of time. It's likely some posts made in May were deleted during the last month, which increases the number for May while posts made in June might get deleted during the next month. But even then, it doesn't necessarily mean anything: less posts on the bounty board have a different meaning than less posts in Bitcoin Technical Support.
