Much of it is just bitcoin price appreciation.
Yep, the numbers back that up. Nearly all of the Q3 operating income, some $20.9B, was attributable to the BTC stack, rather than the software business. There's been a slight decline in software revenue, which was down 3% to $125.4M, and the share price continues to decline, with BTC Yield running at -3.7% YTD. Essentially, per-share dilution has been outpacing per-share accumulation. A good quarter, albeit mostly BTC price story with the potential to reverse very quickly in a drawdown.
Well it seems that, they are slowly accumulating big numbers now.
811 BTC isn't big numbers, yet. Its about $65.5M at an average of $80,846 per coin. This is the highest weekly purchase amount since Sept 28, which was less than 1,000 BTC. They didn't purchase any BTC the previous week and spent $205M on their buybacks of STRC, which suggests it's more of a return to form than an attempt to ramp things up. Their $4.79B USD reserve is good though for them to be able to do both.
