Yeah, crazy, right? Either there are several metric tons of UNO stored there by us UNOers or Cryptsy is trying to corner the market? Wonlong abandoned his stash at Cryptsy?

Hey guys/gals- just want to say a couple things everybody already knows but just want to remind you
This community ROCKS. Go on other coins bitcointalk threads and you will quickly just want to come back home to UNO.
This community has some individuals whose ideas are helping set UNO apart from 99% of the other coins.
Unlike DOGE, whose community was built when the coins value was very high, UNO's community came together during a four month dump and at incredibly undervalued prices. I think this has brought a different dynamic emulating throughout the community that no other coin has.

one thing worries me and thats the number of coins at cryptsy. UNO's fate is tied to cryptsy right now and thats not good.

The 1st annual blue crypto award sounds so awesome. What a great idea.

One more thing--Wanted to ask you guys about storage onto a usb stick. Do you just save the wallet.dat file on the usb?
Never done this before and thought I'd see what you guys have to say before messing with it. Too many beautiful UNO's

 

@ V500: 'micro centralisation' -- and here are two (theoretical) thoughts:

One: it's not the SIZE of a bureaucracy. It's mechanisms and a culture that keeps it. -- ya know those toddler harnesses that moms use in supermarkets?! JUST LIKE THAT!

Two: develop mechanisms to benefit those who contribute more, and disbenefit the anti-social elements. The in-house exchange -- 'U-nex' -- is a baby step. All tribes since the dawn of time have had these mechanisms as a matter of course -- but pseudonymity in a tribe is historically unique, and requires addressing carefully. There is a bazillionty dollars to be shared by the first coin-community that cracks this nut.

Well I contacted jyap and he(?) confirmed I should be using the 0.9.5 client and to consult the good folk on the forum.... So I'm no further forward with my Mac client as 0.9.5 as it does not fire up and fails to create an Unobtanium folder in Application Support.


With respect to my lost 20 UNO. I have looked at the two similar transactions and the first shows a character string under the title "Redeemed at Input" that leads to a subsequent transaction from my wallet. I guess that's the one I actually recieved.

The second shows "Not yet redeemed" under the title "Redeemed at Input". Given that's from 28th July, can anyone suggest how to redeem it? (I have the Transaction code, Public key & Private key).

"Not yet redeemed" just means that it has not been spent yet. You never actually "receive" coins, just the right to sign them as an output in a future transaction. Check a block explorer (one from the OP) for the address you own. As long as the coins show that they are there and you have the private key, you are in good shape until a fixed client comes along... Which unfortunately I cannot help you with...

So I can literally just move the wallet.dat file to usb, put the usb in my fireproof box, burn down my house, open the fireproof box, take my usb stick, put it in a new computer, download the client, put the wallet.dat file  on my usb in the place of my new clients' wallet.dat file, and have all my coins??

 

Everything you need is in the wallet.dat OR the private keys if you prefer to make a paper offline wallet. Backing the wallet up simply makes a copy you dont need to fish out of your appdata folder

Welcome, Jelks, and keep asking: I am at exactly this stage, learning to back up wallets to a USB.
