Its a good news story, one which I think a lot of people can relate to.

I can relate to it also, My brother got involved back in 2014 and because
he was and still is my best friend told me briefly about it back then and
I was totally dismissive of it. I finally gave in and got involved in 2017.

We have other friends who knew about it but have only taken it seriously
since November 2020.

A lot of the time people need to "See" proof to back up what they previously
couldnt comprehend.

Going forward this is going to happen a lot!

I am a person who has become part of the mistrust of bitcoin. And that is the very wrong thing, when I rate bitcoin as a joke without knowing it first. These words kept in my mind and encouraged me to try several searches about bitcoin since 2015. My experiments with looking for it in various media so that my curiosity was really relieved. 2016, I put 20 bitcoins in a hardware wallet which at that time was still very foreign to me. 2017 was volatile when prices began to signal the ferocity of bitcoins.
my only mistake was selling all the bitcoins too early in 2017.

The point is, don't judge something from time to time without first recognizing it, including bitcoin.

you should try to provide knowledge to the family about bitcoin with real evidence. because right now if just a knowledge alone without evidence it won't be convincing, the best way is with a significant proof of the price and usefulness of bitcoin, maybe that's what you can show your family

Most of the people here probably have the same experience during the early years of bitcoin when we're interested and start talking about it in the public. There were almost no one would actually believe us because its price isn't going up. But when it starts to rise, they'll come and ask us things about it.
Just like the popular quote about money "when money talks, everybody listens" and, asking "Who wants to profit, everybody is in and asking who wants to invest, they're out."

I have similar experiences, although I never tried convincing anyone. Still, most of the interest, questions and calls I receive are due to the rise in price every time there's a bubble, i.e. strictly profit-driven, so that has always been a bit disappointing.

People are usually skeptical when it comes to trying out something new especially if it's something they have little to no knowledge about. So what they usually do is to take the backseat approach - Wait till a couple more people are on board the movement so it doesn't look like they would be the only one on the losing end if it doesn't go as planned. Right now, There are a lot of people that have regrets about not believing in Bitcoin during its infant stages when they had the chance to own a high priced asset like Bitcoin when it was dirt cheap.

I've started my journey in the crypto world in 2017 when the market hit the first huge price explosion. My parents had less knowledge about this stuff as like as me but now I understand the potential of digital currencies. I'd call my father a "crypto skeptic" because he still thinks Bitcoin is some kind of scam I hope one day he'll see the obvious things and accept the point that cryptocurrency is our future and it's already here.

I'll not give up on my relatives to not know cryptocurrency and blockchain technology.

While it is still early to introduce it to them, I'll work hard until they see the advantages of bitcoin on me. I will tell them and let them know how cryptocurrency works and can change and improve an individual's mindset towards investment and market. Let's accept the fact that in order for people adopt the things that we do, they should see it from us before they understand how it works.

"To see is to believe", yes, this phrase is a fact for some, but for me, seeing it is not enough, I want to experience and feel how bitcoin is profitable.

You are not alone, I'm sure many Bitcoin enthusiast also has a hard time with people around them. But the good thing is that you didn't change your mind and still pursue your choice of getting in the Bitcoin bandwagon years ago. There are a lot of non-believers up to this day, but it doesn't matter.


You don't have to wait or rub it in, definitely there will be a time that your family will realized that you make the right decision in your life. If they are still interested then good, but if not then continue what you are doing and don't be affected by the negative thoughts around you.
