Well, using an exchanger will give some hint who you are as they are asking some basic information about you. though it won't directly be pointing you out that you are holding Bitcoin since you are converting it to Monero or any altcoins. I think it's kind of a waste of money to actually buy Bitcoin then convert to Monero then convert to Bitcoin again. You could just buy Monero instead then convert it to Bitcoin instead, in that way you could own a Bitcoin then use a mixer to really stay anonymous. But the truth is you are not actually totally anonymous since your Bitcoin is still written on the blockchain, thus your Bitcoin wallet address could be available everywhere if someone knew your Bitcoin wallet address.

For all I know since I was trading, the only way to anonymise Bitcoin is if you mined it or have claimednit using faucets which is not that productive anymore. I haven’t seen any decent faucets nowadays and you have to spend a lot to mine the amount of Bitcoin you want to accumulate.

Actually, you don't need to convert your Bitcoin to monero just for it to be anonymous. You could have just use a mixer, or perhaps a P2P (which is kinda risky to deal with), buying on exchanges that do not require KYC like DEX would also be an option. Converting your Bitcoin to monero back into Bitcoin again, I think that process alone would spend a pretty decent amount of fee so you don't want to do that unless you are okay with it.So yeah just like what the majority saying mixer service could perfectly fit your case.

You could face some problems depending how much Bitcoin you're buying from exchanges, most exchanges need you to complete KYC if you are withdrawing more than 2BTC per day, but if the amount is lower than that you can just buy from one of the centralized ones and then withdraw BTC to your personal wallet.

One of the most decentralized ways of buying/trading Bitcoin without having to deal with centralized exchanges is to buy Wbtc which is basically Bitcoin on ethereum network, that way not only you can hold your Bitcoin in your own Ethereum wallet, you can also trade it whenever you want on one of the decentralized platforms like Uniswap but the fees for ethereum network are really high at the moment so if you're buying/trading less than ~$3k it's not a very optimal solution.

If you really want to be anonymous in some way in order to own or earn a bitcoin is just buy a bitcoin then send it to another wallet by using bitcoin mixer so that the address will not be able to trace then send it back to your main and own wallet. Another thing is that coinbase. Coinbase is producing a multi address wallet in which you can use and chance different address in order for you to be not trackable.
