Exactly, in my country most parents use their children as their retirement plan in the future. They will always say that "you are the one that will get us rich" which gives pressure for the children in the future. Imagine working for yourself and you also need to have well pay job since they expect a lot from you. I'm not saying not to pay their kindness soon but having a child is not an investment to rely for them in the future. As the OP mentioned, I think the op has an intention of holding for a very long time despite the volatile situation of the bitcoin. But we all know that holding for that long might result to a good and bad results. But for 18 years? I might say that the kid is already rich. You did the right thing to invest every little amount that you have for your baby through buying bitcoin. But, IMHO, 18 years is quite long for you to have that goal.

We don't know what's with the future and for me, you should think of any good price where you're going to sell instead of just plainly planning that you'll hold for that specific long period of time.

I hope you already have a cold wallet or hardware wallet to store the Bitcoin investment that you prepared for your baby because to maximize the security of Bitcoin assets for your child, very unfortunate if you only use a hot wallet because you also have to consider the security vulnerabilities of your investments.
