That is one thing that should be considered as to why Bitcoin is decentralized: to give its user anonymity and ensure their safety and security. Not only for the newbie people but also the safety of the person teaching would be in danger, especially if he or she is trying to teach a stranger.
Teaching Bitcoin to strangers when you are alone is risky. Like you go to a new nation, live in new location and hang out to find strangers and teach them about Bitcoin. It is like showing strangers that you have money and I am sure some strangers are not good people. They actually don't know how much do you have but if they feel you have money, have bitcoin, they can kidnap you and do even worse things to you.
I don't really suggest that people promote Bitcoin to people who are close to you like friends, co-workers, family, etc. I mean it wouldn't always be a good idea to be involved in this kind of promoting Bitcoin which is volatile and has risks where people could still possibly lose huge amounts and break relationships.
The best advice is don't. I agree with you.
Don't do this, because when you teach people are close to you, even you say it's not financial advice, you are not free from their complain later. If they come to you, complain that they get loss, even it is not your fault, you will still feel very annoying and uncomfortable.
Don't teach them will give you more comfortable life. If they want to learn, they can learn from many resources on Internet.
