Yes you're right, asides bitcoin it's advisable for one to do a proper research about a said investment before they partake in it,  most of all those influencers or so called crypto whale are paid to advertise some projects but won't tell you the risk involved in it, until you discover it yourself and by then it might be too late cause you might had lose from the project and you'll have no one to hold accountable but yourself for taking the wrong decision.

 That's why DYOR is very important, atleast you'll discover the benefits and disadvantages to investing in that project before making investment. However investing in bitcoin currently is a very nice decision anyone could think of especially for those investing on a long term, you're right because it's volatility makes it a unique asset and those who invested in it when it was below 60k could testify of the huge profits they made currently.

You're right though that every investment, it's always including the risk that we have to take and as for Bitcoin, this is risky as well although the risk that it has got seems nothing to us that has been used to it.

Those that have investments that are wanting to diversify, 1%-5% of your portfolio for Bitcoin is quite low but that ain't bad at all. But you'd see people here that have more than 50% of their total assets are in Bitcoin.

I hope that OP will get what you mean about in control because there could be another meaning about it. Anyway, it's true that we have full control of the wallet and there's no third-party behind it when managing the funds unlike the banks but if you are not careful with the security then someone might have access to the wallet. You cab expect a return if it increases but if not then you won't get a return and that's what you forgot to include that bitcoin is volatile.

Bitcoin is proven and tested among all investments. As time goes on, the value really increases. It's like real estate, where the value of the land increases over time. Bitcoin's value did not decrease.

What you said makes me think that you are blaming investments like gold, foreign exchange...when you cannot become rich. And I wonder, would you blame bitcoin if your bitcoin investment didn't bring you wealth in the future? It is true that bitcoin has the potential to increase in price, the potential to bring us great profits so that we have a chance to become rich but nothing guarantees us 100%. Whether we invest at a loss or gain a big profit depends entirely on each person's skills and vision, not on bitcoin.

That is a half true because it's impossible to know exactly how much gold is left, every now and then they discover a new gold vein so technically yes, gold is limited, but how limited? And let's not forget that in the space there is a ton of gold and sooner or later we'll start with asteroid mining so in that case gold supply wouldn't be a problem anymore. Extraction costs would be a different thing of course.
