Well, I'd say that is a good idea and initiative for those who want to help other people, such as poor countries, and now many people have another option of helping or giving help to people in need, but I do hope that those who will handle this bitcoin donation thing know what they are doing because, of course, we know how complex bitcoin is, even converting into cash or what. Anyway, I also hope that this movement will be more implemented in different countries because I know many people or bitcoin investors who will want to help using their own assets.
 
I'm sure this kind of movement will be implemented more if this first project is successful and if many people actually donate and give some of their assets. Anyway, I hope they could accept other crypto currencies or multiple coins so that many people will have other options for donating.

Undoubtedly, this is an important step to spread the familiarity of Bitcoin around the world. However, if such important steps are taken in all countries of the world, Bitcoin will be known as one of the main means of payment in all areas of life in the future.
However, it is very important to verify the authenticity of organizations that will accept payments through Bitcoin in the service of humanity. Because there are many fake companies who collect money from people in the name of services, in this case those companies collect money through various online payments.
All those humanitarian organizations and organizations engaged in the service of the needy people are cheating like this based on the helplessness of people and these organizations should be vigilant so that they cannot collect money through Bitcoin. However, in the case of organizations that are certified by the government and various agencies, there can be no substitute for Bitcoin to collect money from different countries.

You probably need to get out much more or read more news because Habitat for Humanity is an organization that's been here for a long time. That's just you who thinks poor people or those that are in need are parasites, if the money can help stave off hunger at least for a day, I would definitely donate also, I don't think you're really donating or doing the charity yourself, you're probably just saying that so you're not that bad looking for saying the people that are helped by these charities are leeches, sure there are some organization that really don't help the people they promise to help and that it's a good idea to do the helping yourself but I don't think that's you.

Really cool that Habitat for Humanity has done this, that means that more exposure to bitcoin and more people are going to be learning more about it, hopefully I can do some donations there some time. This is actually a good thing too, if they consider the bitcoin donation for long-term hodl, they might be able to help more in the future if they wait for the bitcoin donations to go up in prices.

When I was a little kid, the former president Jimmy Carter came to our province to build houses for a Habitat for Humanity village. That memory stuck with me until now. Little did I know that I too would be serving as a volunteer for the same organization a few years after attending university.

I'm happy to hear this news. I'm happy for the organization being open-minded and futuristic. Not that I would be donating Sats since I've already donated no less than a whole year of my prime years to them, but I'm just happy that they're on our side.

I do not know how this kind of action can help the Bitcoin ecosystem.  I am skeptical whether this action of the charity organization is to propagate the use of Bitcoin or they are just takin advantage of the Bitcoin currency to widen their scope of people where they can get the support for their activity.  I believe this organization will instantly convert the donated BTC to fiat currency the moment they received the transfer.

On the other note, in a humanitarian view, it is great to have an easier way to support charities especially if the person is holding Bitcoin only as their fund.  They are saved from the pain of converting their BTC to fiat currency to reach out and donate to those charitable institutions.


It is possible that the website of the said institution is in the process of integrating the Bitcoin donation system on their site.  Probably it will take some time to reflect the updated site where the address or the system for Bitcoin donation is visible.

Things like this were rare 8-10 years ago but now we see adoption increasing at a very fast rate, news like this breaks every day. Nether the less a big win for Habitat for Humanity International.

At the end of the day, we are all just normal people trying to diversify our options and not only be limited to fiat money. Contrary to what the government thinks, bitcoin users do not only use bitcoin for illicit transactions but also use bitcoin for the benefit of other people.
I think you can try and do both instead. You can save your money and do good deed by yourself while also donating to huge charities with other purpose than yours. Habitat for Humanity Intl. is an organization that build homes for those who need it. I find that donating to large scale charities can help more people as they have more reach and more resources and they have the actual time to build the necessary infrastructure.

Right now, I can’t just build a house no matter how much money I save up. So I can help in other ways. I can instead do a feeding program. You can do both.

There can’t be too much kindness in this world.

And I do agree that it's a big win for Habitat for Humanity International and I do believed that more of them will come to acknowledge that crypto is here to stay and so they will have to find a way to accept it in the future.

I have seen habitat for humanity near my city. As far as I know, it is a non-profit organization that helps build or repair houses to be decent. As far as I know, they also help families affected by natural disasters such as tsunamis, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, etc. It is progress and a good thing if crypto is starting to be accepted by large non-profit organizations. This marks an important step in the mainstream adoption of crypto currency. This positive sentiment brings a wave of optimism among crypto industry players. I hope there are many other organizations that start to accept crypto, this will be a new era in the financial system and can change the way people think about crypto for the better.
