Yes, Trump is very open to Bitcoin and hopefully he will come up with friendly policies so that Bitcoin can thrive. But Russia's use of bitcoin for international trade transactions is a temporary solution to avoid sanctions, they have no intention of abandoning the traditional banking system. This could also change in the future if sanctions are lifted or the Brics currency system is finalized.

Regarding using bitcoin as a reserve, we need to realize that everything is just an idea of ​​a few parliamentarians of some governments. There have been no concrete plans from the US, Russia, EU or most recently Hong Kong on this idea. We should not rush to confirm anything or have high expectations, only to be painfully disappointed if everything turns out to be just rumors.

I know that the Trump administration claims to be pro-Bitcoin, but the entire Republican party isn't totally pro-Bitcoin, so most of the pro-crypto policies by Trump probably won't get accepted by the US Congress and Senate.
Rumors about Russia using Bitcoin have been circulating around the crypto world in the last few years, but this didn't lead to major bull runs.
Tether might be facing some troubles, if the USA decides to shut it down, because many Russians are using USDT.

You can only experience such decision from leaders that are well educated, which is what Russian president just approved for investors to be using BTC in their foreign trade because depending on dollar on the time in  the foreign trade make some countries look so small to the country that owns the currency. I have confidence on this Russian president that he will do things that will make the government to recover their losses because for him to allow his minister to announce BTC for foreign trade, show that they have started making some decentralized investment that will speeding their economy to grow faster through crypto.

Even though they are not going to stay long in this BTC foreign trade for long in the country, but it will open the eyes of their citizens to know important of crypto which it will be difficult for their people to quit totally from crypto trading.
