Why not? Satoshi did not want any control and he did not reveal his identity because of this. Government are not controlling bitcoin but controlling exchanges and other centralized platforms. Even bitcoin transaction till today is not controlled in a way that it is censored.

Among what are truly decentralized, bitcoin is still part of them. Bitcoin is still peer-to-peer payment system. Bitcoin still eliminate central control. Satoshi did not design those exchanges and other central controls. It designed nodes, wallets and everything needed for bitcoin not to have central control. You can still make use of bitcoin like that. Let us wait and see what will happen in the future but bitcoin is not for the government to control.

Bitcoin is the closest we have seen to true decentralization which I believe is probably impossible to have in the real world.

Government and ETFs showing interest doesn't make it centralized.

Yeah Bitcoin was created to remove intermediaries which still exists. It has changed

People that subscribe to ETF are not buying Bitcoin but shares
While the ETF are the ones buying the Bitcoin.
Likewise CEX, they own the coins while you given a interface form of the coin.

Firstly Satoshi may not be dead, infact no one knows who Satoshi is but one thing I am sure is that Satoshi would be proud of what Bitcoin has achieved.
I think he won't have a problem with government adopting it infact he or they should be happy because it would definitely generally increase the adoption level of Bitcoin.
I don't think the battle is against the government but the battle is against financial system freedom and since government can't control Bitcoin I don't see any problem with them adopting it.

Interesting question, but the truth is, there is nothing we can do about it. The government are very smart. After their long frown towards it, they've decided to embrace it because such technology looks promising and doesn't seem like the regular type. Fine, some of us are scared that the whole government involvement and reserve thing doesn't look genuine as it is, but I don't think the government will be able to take control of the technology itself.

Though, having that purchasing power to buy a massive amount for reserve purposes looks threatening in terms of price manipulation, but I also feel that the government won't want to spend alot in something they can't control. There are so many points that can be raise from this if we to start analyzing. At the end of the day, Satoshi knows he has played his part for the community, by introducing the technology and making it decentralization. It's now the duty of the community members to play their own part because the government will surely need key figures to get things done.

had the vision to see where it would end up provided it got the attention - which it has for the last
15 years.

I believe he knew if it grew to where it is today that there would be institutional and governmental interest,
it just makes sense that everyone should acquire Bitcoin, it was always just a matter of time - and
still is.

Proud perhaps, happy about the way things turned out, not so sure. I do think that bitcoin is just as it should be, a politically and nationally neutral asset, with the characteristics of hard money. But, I do sometimes suspect he was a true cypherpunk at heart and deliberately kept it hidden to avoid influencing its reputation.

I think the pioneer would be pleased that a proud government whom would have been more concerned about its local fiat currency have turned there attention towards a more suitable alternative and means to conduct financial activities with Bitcoin being placed at top priority.

Though holding might be your typical p2p system, the many people that hold today would be as much guilty as the government would be should they see the plans of a Bitcoin reserve through. Even now, nothing has been done outside the scheme as, even with fiat currency, you don’t get to spend it all but, reserve some for future purposes. The difference here is that, the reservation is in a way to create scarcity and increase demand.

Still, it’s a use case none the less and that’s good for Bitcoin.

I think he'd be more than pleased to see that the governments and financial institutions are adopting his project. At first, it's all for the community but the wide acceptance of it is unstoppable and it's going there. Maybe he had also envisioned this to come when the great crisis that had happened more than a decade ago, he probably thought that this time might come. Since it is free for everybody, then the includes these centralized communities and markets and so, governments and financial institutions adopting it is music to his ears.

Sotoshi Nakamoto created Bitcoin as a decentralized currency, beyond the control of governments. Governments adopting Bitcoin is like the opposite of those ideas, and El Salvador making Bitcoin legal tender back in 2021. On the other hand, that means Bitcoin is gaining legitimacy, mainstream use. There recently has been talk that the US consideration might make Bitcoin a reserve, speaking to growing acceptance. As much as government involvement can raise the credibility of Bitcoin, it risks bringing back that central control Bitcoin which hardly the case since those governments still only own Bitcoin not controlling it. So, I think Satoshi will still be happy looking at how Bitcoin grow today.

Is Satoshi pleased with this? Probably not. Maybe he will come back and express his opinions about the current state of Bitcoin, but I don't believe that such thing would ever happen. He is most likely:
1.Dead.
2."Satoshi Nakamoto" was a team of developers and never a true person. Or maybe the conspiracy theory was right and the CIA created Bitcoin.
Bitcoin was supposed to be anti-bank and anti-government, but at the end of the day, the banks and governments finally took control over it.
Maybe this should serve as a lesson, that no decentralized currency could ever remain truly independent for a long time.
