But it still happens nowadays, so they find success somewhere. Some people are easy to fall for scams, unfortunately. Not sure how much it is though. I doubt these scammers would waste their time using a terrible scam tactic unless they're stupid.
Some of my addresses got attacked too. I'd love to be able to pay fees with these dust attacks but I probably need to wait years for that, not to mention the privacy issue.
Scammers do batch scam and they have fail rate that is too high like 80%, 90% or higher, but they only need like 1%, 2% or 5% successful scam rate to get good money from victims. From reports I've read, victims usually lose very big fund to scammers and with scammers it's more than enough.
They spent low inputs for scamming activities and only need one or scam successful cases to have money and enjoy.
I don't know about successful rate of scammers but I guess it is not too high, as I can not be scammed this way, and people around me were contacted by scammers but they were not scammed. It's small sample but enough for me to believe that succesful scam rate is very low.
