What are your thoughts on this? Personally, I keep all my BTC in a single hardware wallet. Id like to know, from the Bitcointalk community: do you think the saying "dont put all your eggs in one basket" also applies to those using a single hardware wallet?
Storing things separately is a way to keep things safe. So it's true that what the proverb says is true, not only the ways of guarding have evolved for the better, nowadays scammers also have newer & better ways to deceive their potential victims. But to do those separations, you have to spend more effort & time to manage all of that. In the end, only you know how far you can go.
Let's us look that proverb to be coming from inexperienced users just as Op has made known earlier because splitting you bitcoin to different wallets might demands more tasks to ensure safety to where the seed phrases are being stored.
In the other hand, splitting your bitcoin will help to condone alternative reliance In the case of loosing your funds to scammers on wallet attacks so, you can always have other options of not loosing it all of paraventurely it happens as mistake could be paramount but that is not an excuse to be welcomed.
Operating two hardware wallets can be manageable. I know someone who has four hardware wallets, and it's similar to having multiple smartphones. Many people choose to do this, and while it may be slightly more complicated during the initial setup, it's not particularly challenging.
Today's hardware wallets resemble smartphones, featuring a screen with a tabbing function that allows users to scroll and scan QR codes easily to send out their Bitcoin. Overall, it's not difficult to handle.
I believe both perspectives have merit; it's ultimately a choice that users need to consider. Personally, I prefer using a single hardware wallet, but that doesnt mean I cant operate two if necessary.
What you said is true but the tendencies of adequately managing double or more wallet address with your funds in them would not be as easy as user holding a single wallet.
Experienced users might find this as easy for them but this would not be as thou to beginners.
Okay let's make an experiment via the proverb " don't put your eggs in one basket".
So when you have multiple Wallet addresses and you store your seed phrases at same spots, I hope you know when attack hits on one others will be affected since they are all stored in same place.
If you also have to split the seed phrases in different places, you will need to be more conscious checking up on them in the different places if they are intact or not and then, the security survey tasks would become higher than when you have just one wallet address.
But yet, I am not discriminating having more than one wallet but don't do it if you can't meet up the security multitasking.
