I couldn't recommend more than the guy many of the "older" bitcoin people were taught from. Andreas Antonopoulos. Here is his YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCJWCJCWOxBYSi5DhCieLOLQ . Start from the beginning videos. They are still relevant and worth-while and will get you started off on the right track!

He's written a few books. if you understand cryptography than "Mastering Bitcoin" is a great book. If not, check out "The Internet of Money"

Don't be deceived; trading profits can not guaranteed in the short or long term; it is Bitcoin investment that someone can be assured of having profits for a long-term investment plan.

I don't know why your friend will give you such hope when crypto trading requires a lot of expertise before someone can think of an assured gain in their trading endeavor. I wouldn't like to advise you to start off trading as a newbie because what is involved is not what you can easily comprehend.

Getting involved with a community of people either in the online space or offline can be a good way to quickly catch up on something. With something like trading, having people around you who share same interest may help facilitate your learning process or plan. They will also keep your interest fresh.
As you look for communities and groups to get involved with be careful also not to get involved with the community that begins to advise you to subscribe to a signal group or copy trade instead of learning to trade.
