This is what I am seeing now:



1 sat/vbyte even for fast confirmation.

I did not missed it because I have been making bitcoin transaction since more than 5 years ago. But one thing I missed is that the fee is slightly increasing as bitcoin price is increasing. When bitcoin was below $30000 or maybe lower, the fee for 1 sat/vbyte was $0.06 but now $0.12. Although it is still very low.

I think I have already targeted 2sat/vbyte few days or weeks thereabouts, had never send out transactions with 1 sat but I know it would confirmed faster if there are no much competition for faster confirmation ( the most priority is 1 sat) and it will confirm so quickly. I guess this could be as a result of low transactions within the block right?

This reminds me of Bitcoin Ordinals/ or Ordinal Protocols, this spam in the bitcoin network got me so irritated that I decided not to make transactions for a long time, now the network is very free and fees ar very cheap.

This is a good flash back of how well the network is right now, it's best we make big transactions now unlike those days of congestion where guys paid huge for small amounts.

I can remember bitcoin used to have this low fees before the fees skyrocketed. I think people like you who are yet to actually witness this thing for the first time will most definitely be disappointed then and will think bitcoin transaction fees are a negative disadvantage to it, this clearly showing that most things are temporary on bitcoin network. The hype around ordinals and inscriptions has already died off same way FOMO does. This low transaction fee has been on for a time and has made Transactions easy.

A little correction is. It is not the transaction fee alone that makes the transaction fast but other factors most especially the duration of when the new block is formed.transaction fee is just used to actually filter out transactions from which other. While sending I like to hard some more sats like if it is on 1 sat/vbyte I usually send 1.1sat/vbyte or more just to be ahead of the rest when selection time reaches

Bitcoin transaction fee is now can rival to shitcoins blockchain while the high fee on Bitcoin transactions is one of the main reason why this shit blockchain exist in the past.

It’s amazing to see that Bitcoin manage to compete with other blockchain in terms of the transaction fee amount despite having high demand and huge valuation now.

This show Bitcoin supremacy over shitcoin blockchain. I hope this fee will stay and not interrupted by scam ordinals shit.

The fee had been up and down and this kind of fee rate had been appearing on the mempool often when the network was not congested so this does not surprised me at all, just like what @Dark45 stated.

Now with the Ordinals and BRC20 tokens hype died down and the previous Rune protocol out of the scene, the network is free from unnecessary congestion thus we again experience the breeze of having a low transaction fee when sending Bitcoin.

as long as ordinals and inscriptions aren't making noise, fee could stay like this, majority of people hold bitcoin to hedge against inflation right now, so they don't really need to make a tx.
also, you can even pay few cents to send billions with no problem at all. it's bitcoin after all.

current state of bitcoin is really great for people who used bitcoin for long, I also don't expect ordinals or inscriptions to be making come back anytime soon.
so I think the fee will stay like this for a while.

Am I the only one thinking that we are able to see this cheap transaction on Bitcoin network because of ordinals and Brc20 tokens are almost dead? I saw this coming for real, I knew that they won't do great on the long run, the time for ordinals to have done really well was when Bitcoin was pumping, but since it is giving the alt vibes it is doomed already.

This even confirmed that Ordinals are ALTs, they have nothing to do with Bitcoin, if not they would have moved a lot while Bitcoin was making a new all time high, even if altcoin season starts I doubt ordinals will do well.

If you are a ordinals investor I am sorry you've made a huge mistake by spending a dime on those shitty inscriptions, you are better off buying more Bitcoin at the time, now no one cares about Ordinals anymore.

Yea, I agree with you. The only challenge that will come up is the time zone because the time differ in some places. However, using a fee as cheap as 1sat/vb is good and that makes bitcoin unique. I haven't been opportune to use a low fee as this because I don't make transactions frequently. It's always once in a month or in two weeks. I hate it when the blockchain is congested because only the rich can afford the fee.
