PONZI SCHEME?
Probably the biggest misconception about bitcoin is that it is a big Ponzi scheme.

The purpose of a Ponzi scheme is to (unjustly) enrich the creator of the Ponzi.
As the creator of bitcoin Satoshi Nakamoto has mined over a million bitcoins, but he or she has never sold a single bitcoin.
So how could it be a Ponzi scheme when the creator never even profited from it?

for those who say that bitcoin is a ponzi scheme, they do not understand what a ponzi scheme really is and they do not know bitcoin. they do not understand the concept of bitcoin and just open their mouths saying that bitcoin is a ponzi scheme. if only they understood that bitcoin is fundamentally different from a ponzi scheme, which has intrinsic value, many holders globally, and a trading market for it, then they would not think like that... but that's how it is, there are always people who don't like bitcoin and spread negative news about it, though it only shows how stupid they are.

Bitcoin cannot be a currency, you all are being deceived by a little unknown internet boy.

This will crash very soon and you all will cry about it.

Government is the only one that has the power to print money and not a random small boy.
Invest your time in something meaningful and not on an intangible and non existing money.

Bitcoin has been surrounded by nonsense since its very beginning, and it seems like it will continue.
Bitcoin as a Ponzi is based on the lack of knowledge, in my opinion. I would add onto the list of weird if not dumb arguments against Bitcoin a conspiracy theory that BTC was actually created by FBI to control people even more than with fiat.

But the environmental attacks are not among the dumbest to me. Mining does take a lot of energy, and it is important to focus on moving toward sustainable energy sources. I am not saying that gold mining isn't bad for the environment, or that the banking system doesn't have a huge carbon footprint. But turning to these is whataboutism for me.

Money laundering is a good addition by d5000. Some countries like Russia and North Korea do use BTC to bypass sanctions, and many individual and institutional criminals are doing similar things. But the problem is not with Bitcoin, it’s with who and why they use it. So it shouldn't count as an argument against Bitcoin. And besides, the fiat is still being used way more for illegal activities than BTC, right?

One of the many myths about bitcoin that caught my attention is "bitcoin unfairly rewards early investors/adopters". Anyone who has held bitcoin since its low price until now must have made a huge return per bitcoin - but that's fair considering the high demand for bitcoin over time has made its price more expensive. The returns that early adopters have certainly been fair since they were willing to buy and hold it for as long as possible considering the risk involved - this myth is simply not true.

Probably, it's just that many people still remember those financial pyramids that operated in this way: people who were mostly the first at the origins received all the profits, unlike those who brought money into the pyramid later and were obviously deceived.
And let their arguments be that those who were, indeed, at the beginning they received a lot of money, but this is only because the price of bitcoin was growing. And not because they had any ability to get big bitcoin stakes.

The idiots who keep making this accusation don't even know what a Ponzi scheme is.
However, the label of Ponzi scheme could certainly be applied to every altcoin that was ever made.
Because every shitcoin/altcoin creator has started their scheme for the purpose of enriching themselves.

ENVIRONMENTAL ATTACKS
The second dumbest argument I think are the environmental attacks against bitcoin.
Funny how the people who make these attacks never say anything about the environmental destruction of gold which is
a hundred times worse than bitcoin. Do these idiots really think gold mining is green and isn't incredibly destructive to the environment?

Unlike gold mining, bitcoin mining can be and often is powered entirely by wind, solar, nuclear, and/or hydro, etc.
Which are all considered more clean forms of energy. But you can't do that with gold mining.

Gold mining is similar to coal mining, both require the clearing and destruction of entire forests, farmland, lakes and rivers, water reservoirs,
wildlife habitats in order to mine the gold. Large amounts of mercury and other toxic chemicals are used to extract and purify the gold which of course
is very destructive to the physical environment. Mercury causes cancer and disease to humans, plants and animals.

Gold mining is often a cause of wars and violence from people fighting over the gold mines especially in Africa.

If the so-called environmentalists such as Greenpeace had half a brain maybe they would be advocating for bitcoin as a superior,
cleaner alternative to gold instead of talking out of their rear end about something they know nothing about.
