This is a good development that will spread cryptocurrency awareness more. I don't know if this can lead to the legalisation of Bitcoin in the country which will have more impact that this. Just like El Salvador did and even invested in Bitcoin and have made good profits. If more countries will follow this direction, it would be long before we achieve mainstream adoption of cryptocurrency. It's just a shame that my country are cracking down on cryptocurrency instead of finding ways to reap the benefits it offers.
Honestly this move of the Bhutan given decentralized payment option for strangers or specifically tourists according to the news is accolading because the service is not only fostered on benefiting the foreigners but also as a strategy that the government can be accumulating crypto currencies through payment options which will as well profit the nation on profit realization when the market price increases.
As for other nations to follow suit of the El Salvador on the legal tender is what I can not justify because sometimes what favour others won't favour you Iif you don't follow the right steps.
I also noticed you are a fellow Nigerian and I am bringing to your notice that the Nigerian government has confirmed bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies as safe secured place to store values which is believed to have brought positive impact to the society via adoption encouragement.
Who knows what their next plan is if it will be imitating the US reseve strategy or pronounce it legal tenders???
However, I don't think that countries not adopting bitcoin is missing heavens because aside bitcoin, the economy will survive rather bitcoin is sighted to be an hedge to save values against inflations since the banks don't portray such potential of values.
