There is a correlation between global news and Bitcoin's price, and it's quite reasonable to be because such news affects investments, such as the stock market; Bitcoin is an asset after all. However, I don't think that the new Pope's election has anything to do with Bitcoin's surge in price; the events may as well be completely coincidental. A few people were claiming that the tariff talks between China and the U.S.A. had an effect, which is way more plausible, as Trump's political moves have affected the global economy; news of Pope's death and his recent re-election aren't.

Yes, it is true that Bitcoin has a significant impact on global news, as many countries have now legalized Bitcoin, which is able to increase the value of Bitcoin. Moreover, Bitcoin has no control over any government or bank in any country, it works independently for the people. Bitcoin has increased its value a lot at present, which is expected to increase further in the future.
