obviously they feel skeptical of what a food business know about bitcoin but bitcoin is a currency and a food business is a business nonetheless meaning the shareholders has to still know some things about finances
first of all china isn’t really trying to a crypto hub afaik and the simple reason for this is that these countries mentioned are already big and considered successful countries so people doubt them less

I don’t think we should limit the right to buy Bitcoin to just one industry. Whatever their purpose is, it still helps the market overall because what we’re really after is demand, which leads to increased adoption.

Even a small contribution, especially if they plan to hold it long-term, should already be seen as a big step toward adoption. It reduces the supply in circulation, and as a result, investors benefit.

So instead of seeing it as just a PR stunt or something negative, why not appreciate their trust in Bitcoin and its future?

Is there a necessary cause-and-effect connection? Was their decision to buy Bitcoin the real reason their stock is down? Companies maintain assets, right? Is it necessarily bad for a food company to keep reserve assets not directly related to their business? I don't think so.

Metaplanet's stock price growth is in the thousands in percentage since they adopted the Bitcoin standard. Prior to that, the company's main business focus is hospitality, operating hotels and related services.

Semler Scientific is another case. Its focus is healthcare. Although still in the wide world of technology, they're primarily into developing diagnostic products, not banking, wealth management, fintech, and the like. After adopting Bitcoin as a company treasury asset, their stock value has experienced significant progress.

So how do you buy 5,000 coins with 10 million in profit  last year.

To me I think the future goal of 5,000 coIns seemed too big to some investors.

If they grabbed 50 coins for 2024 that would be 1/2 of their profit.

After all expenses they took a loss of 20 mil

DDC, a Hong Kong food company has a sharp decline due to skepticism or someone cashed out?, @OP seems right since it looks like this move of DDC a food company is somehow incompatible with its acquisition of Bitcoin because right after their purchase, their stock due to skepticism got a sharp decline.  But as I look at their stock performance, they are already on the decline since March, they had a significant drop of 19.43% and another sharp drop on April 4 at -41.52%

But this is somehow interesting looking at their stock performance chart^[1]:

• Their stock recovered on May 12 at +42.28% (probably the rumors among the investors about investing in Bitcoin helped)
• They announced it (Bitcoin purchase plan) on May 15 which increased their stock at +10.56%
• Increased further on May 16 at +14.06%
• Right before they purchased BTC on May 22 at +10.46%.

The decline happened a day after the purchase possibly (someone is cashing out after the 105.21% stock increase from a sharp decline on April 4) but looking at how the market recovers, they had a sharp inclined total of 105.21% from April 4 to May 22 before the purchase.  Their stock performance after that was at -12 % due to a sharp decline after the BTC purchase, but in overall performance since the sharp decline on April 4 to date is at +80.57%

From the data, I think the rumors, announcements, and acquisition of Bitcoin by DDC greatly helped to recover their stock value, that is how I interpret the stock value movement but I don't know about others...

When they (company) don't understand the nature of Bitcoin, they will become depressed. Another problem is if they do not have good funds to support their business. I think their company will be disrupted and their operations will be disrupted. So the downturn might be a big problem for the company. I think the company should have an investment expert in purchasing Bitcoin commodities. So they are not wrong in buying. Comparing with Strategy then this is very far, strategy is bigger. The funds they have may also be very large away from problems like small companies.

It's simple as ABC, why are you surprised? Bitcoin survives the company will survive too, it is clear as day, and believe this, it won't be the end of it as this is the beginning, many companies will keep buying Bitcoin even if they are cotten or biscuit makers.

Bitcoin will be the backbone of every companies around the world, now I doubt it anymore that one day Bitcoin will be at the 500k price, with the way things are going now I can't help but believe.

Last night I looked at a chart that shows how people or organisations are accumulating Bitcoin off crypto exchange, to me surprise Bitcoin is getting 10x more scarcity now, almost all Bitcoin on exchanges are getting bought aggressively.

If you don't understand the implication of your view here, then I will tell you that it is discouraging for beginner investors to take chances of buying Bitcoin at their availabilities.
The right time to buy Bitcoin is not bestowed at the Dip nor at the peak price rather at investors conveniences literally when you have already sorted your finances out and have set some percentage aside implemented for the purchase of their Bitcoin or to follow their investment plans probably DCAing if not buying one-off.

Moreover, buying at the hike price does not mean you are going to be at lost unless they are pushed to sell too early with the thought that your entry level at the high price will continue to pump.

We either don't know the net worth of this company before getting to be this skeptic on the impossibilities of them to achieve their goal and as the case maybe, OP only said (3 years to acquire 50,000)  after they have already bought 21,000 of Bitcoin already without explaining how they plans to achieve that.
He did not state if their target of 50,000 Bitcoins is by hodling after buying their earlier purchase Or their mission is to continue buying instrumentally DCA) that average number (50,000) in 3 years time.

I also tend to believe that this company has verily studied the market before this decision which I would doubt if they only came to take part of short term goal in this bull cycle and moreover, the bull run won't last in the next 3 years rather we might been experiencing the bear which may not at all be impressive for a selling point of when invested when price was high.

This argument would had really been better of argument if the OP provided us a link that details about this food company mission.

You're basing that on what happened in one day to say that? Wait a couple of months or a couple of years and tell us. Also you would have to know the specific situation of the company, if it has a lot of debt, if its cash flow has been decreasing and things like that, but in general it is a good idea because when you buy bitcoin instead of distributing dividends or buying back shares you are backing the company with the best asset in the world, so that term you use of “burning cash” is totally biased. In reality you are exchanging a very inferior asset for the top asset that exists.
