I'll join again for the comparison of the last 2 months on 1ML and BitcoinVisuals. The comparison is with the data from September 12/13.
BitcoinVisuals for November 3:
- 32794 unique channels (down from 35604 in September)
- 12741 nodes (down from 13143 nodes in September)
- capacity BTC: 3211,740 (down from 3725.888 in September))
- capacity in USD: 249.898.858 (down from 287,900,213 in September)
1ml for current values (November 3):
- 5,883 nodes (down from 5898 nodes in September)
- 19,098 channels (down from 19,948 channels in September)
- 2,250.68 BTC (down from 2,680.03 BTC in Sepembter) capacity. This is imo the most significant change and confirms the slight downtrend in numbers.
Conclusion: These two months were clearly negative in both sources, a bit more so than according to the mempool.space source @notblox1 cites. The drop in nodes in 1ml has been confirmed again.
In general I think there are currently no new "impulses" for Lightning which explains the stagnation, and perhaps the attention of the Bitcoinsphere is switching to Ark which has seen some progress this year (for example with
mobile wallets).
