Banks advising us to invest in Bitcoin? Well, it's clearly not for everyone because, according to this, the advice is intended only for the wealthy, and not all of us are wealthy.
As mentioned in the article, we should allocate around 3% to 7% of our portfolio to Bitcoin.
Does this mean banks are finally becoming pro-Bitcoin?
https://www.reuters.com/business/finance/spanish-bank-bbva-tells-wealthy-clients-invest-bitcoin-2025-06-17/LONDON, June 17 (Reuters) - Spanish lender BBVA (BBVA.MC), opens new tab is advising wealthy clients to invest up to 7% of their portfolio into cryptocurrencies, an executive said on Tuesday, in the latest sign some banks are warming to a sector long avoided by mainstream finance because of its risks.
BBVA's private bank advises clients to invest 3% to 7% of their portfolio in cryptocurrencies depending on their risk appetite, Philippe Meyer, head of digital & blockchain solutions at BBVA Switzerland, told the DigiAssets conference in London.
"With private customers, since September last year, we started advising on bitcoin," Meyer said. "The riskier profile, we allow up to 7% of (portfolios in) crypto."
They have already realized that they had been long time missing out that potential profit just because they've been totally against with crypto just because government is always been that telling something against it on which as these institutions are heavily that regulated then its not shocking that they would be that getting in line with the government and now that we do have that gradual acceptance and recognition then we do have with Bitcoin or simply with crypto today then its not shocking that they would be trying out to adapt on what we do currently have now and they dont want to miss out the business for them to make money. They would be always be trying out to be that be basing up into governments jurisdiction and if it do give out some go signal about recognition and adoption then they would be definitely be embracing it. Just like been said that these are businesses on which simply means that they dont want to miss out on making money too specially it is that making good revenue.
If we do go back into those previous years or simply with those previous cycles on which government and other traditional businesses or industries out there do really have always that negative approach towards crypto and they do even always that keep saying that people should be avoiding this and that on which with those common reasoning that they've been shooting into crypto space. Now that they've seen that the adoption rate is fast and now that gradually making up some noise then they will be trying out to jump in and since its not been too late to join into the party. They will be that definitely be that not wanting to get left behind and this is why we are seeing that they are that making some moves or decisions now and turned out to be that they are transitioning and this is where those thoughts and impressions do changed up.
