As sad as it sounds and as much as I hate to say it the fact is not everyone who's saying hodl right now would have still be able to hodl back then given the value of bitcoin at that time. Many people who have not been able to hold simply because they never saw the hopes of Bitcoin becoming what it is today in fact most of the people that were able to hold where just lucky people because they couldn't actually speculate accurately that it was going to get to this level today if not they would have even acquired more than they had.

The fact is people like you and Laszlo we're actually those who brought about the growth of Bitcoin adoption if everyone kept on hodling bitcoin would not have gotten to this extent. So don be pained instead consider it a huge sacrifice to the growth of the network.
