Ok lets say one connects a 150TB storage server on a 10gbit line to the Storj network, can one make money selling all this storage space? Is that the plan? have people sell storage capacity to the network?

Whats to stop a "node" from deleting all the files on it after it gets paid? how exactly does one do a "proof of existence of file(s)"
Last time I ran the numbers it was around $8k per 1Gbit at market prices. Dropbox charges $1 per GB per year, so you can do the math on that one.
We have a pretty awesome team. They are actually implementing it faster than I can write about it, so I just started spending my time working with them then writing papers. We are just about done with our top level prototype application. After that is done, I'll spend some days writing up a new whitepaper that dives into some of the meaty technical details.
