Dear PrivacyG given your tolerance for unknown creators, which specific actions by this founder would make you lose trust permanently?
I do not 'Trust' anyone. I in fact do every thing in such a way that I would be the least affected if any thing bad happens and I would suggest anyone that they do the same.
It could be Binance, b1exch, a no name Exchange or even non Finance related. I prefer to verify Signatures from multiple devices or through multiple Virtual Machines and separate Internet connections or identities because I do not Trust what a single screen shows me. When it comes to Exchanges, I prefer to split my total amount in to multiple smaller amounts I would afford risking to lose.
As an example, if I deposited 2,000 Dollars on a Centralized Exchange and they froze my funds until I prove my identity, it would be an amount large enough to put me in a position where I am almost forced to give up my Privacy so they can give me my amount back. If I split that amount in multiple deposits of 200 Dollars or less, it would be a price I think I am ready to pay for not giving up my identity to a Third Party stranger.
The same thing applies in the scenario of using Exchanges. If you spend 10,000 Dollars in one single Transaction expecting to get the other Cryptocurrency back then that is being naive even if it is the 'most Trusted Exchange', particularly considering that Centralized Exchanges would obviously rather crack down on and inspect larger Transactions. In the same way, an Exchange that is ready to 'pull the rug' may have a mechanism that automatically does this when a multi Million Dollar Transaction shows up. Splitting it up in smaller amounts may help not trigger it and constantly protect more than 90 percent of the total amount rather than protect zero and risk all. I under lined before that even if no thing goes wrong with the Exchange itself such as pulling the rug or cracking down on your deposits, your Deposit could be sent right when a hacker is about to take all the Money out of the Wallets the Centralized Exchange holds. I imagine a lot of people made Deposits right when the largest hacks in Bitcoin history have happened and I realized that my strategy could prevent a significant screw up.
Exchange 'CEOs' have done a lot of really bad things in the past. So have some Developers, so have a lot of Casinos a lot of people liked and other Platforms or even some of the people who used to be loved here on Bitcoin Talk and turned in to Scammers. I am so used to watching others be back stabbed, Scammed, robbed et cetera that I do not know if there is ANY Platform that should be considered great in the complete sense. I can get a grasp of what the person may be like but if there is one certain thing, it is that people should NEVER be Trusted.
Anyway. When I send my Bitcoin to a Third Party, I consider it already potentially lost. And I think you can see in my Post History that whether it was a Politician, a CEO, an 'Influencer' or anyone else, I do not Trust them and I always think there may be something behind the 'great' things they are saying. I instead rather resort to the 'hope' of getting what I expected back. In this situation, receiving the Cryptocurrency I exchanged for. After all, in most things we all rely on hope.
