Most investors are deceived for two reasons, one is greed and the other is lack of knowledge. So if someone is not greedy and invests in an authentic place, knowing where they are investing, then the investment will not be wasted. Some people often invest after seeing social media campaigns, influencers' words or promises like 100x profit but do not do any research on the technology, development team, practical requirements or risks of the project. As a result, they easily fall victim to pump and dump, rag pool or other scams. However, it would not be right to say that all crypto or tokens are scams. Because there are some legitimate projects outside of Bitcoin that have real uses, active development and long term goals.

So I am not in favor of dismissing a project just because it is an altcoin but rather each investment should be evaluated on its own merits and risks. And those who want to do something new beyond that are the ones who are deceived.
