I just saw this X post by Samson Mow and thought that it belongs to the Bullshit Monitor. It's a 'Trust Us, Bro' kind of post.

As you can see, it's a response to Paraguay's president resigning and the collapse of a local bank. But let's take a look at his post.
He is not recommending that Paraguayans hold bitcoin. Oh no. He is suggesting tether. If you want the closest thing to USD, then USDT could be it I guess.
USDT from @tether is 1:1 backed and you hold the keys.
It's backed all right, but not 1:1 by money in a bank as they claimed in the beginning. It's now backed mostly by US Treasury bills. There are also corporate bonds, bank deposits, gold and precious metals, bitcoin, loans, public equities, etc. The part with users holding the keys is funny when you look at the following sentence of his:
Its safer than money in a bank, where deposits are fractional and can be frozen or restricted.
Right. Money in banks can be frozen and restricted unlike tether that doesn't have a freezing feature built into it, right Samson? Wrong! The issuer can freeze the tokens in any address they want and have done it many times.
