Not everyone has to run a full node but for those who value Bitcoins decentralization and verifying their own transactions, at least running a node is a good option, I ran Bitcoin Core myself. Another big advantage is that you dont have to rely on a third party server when you connect your wallet to your own node. Honestly this will actually give you peace of mind.
Yes, I often hear this phrase, "Don't trust, verify", but already a huge quantity of people have run nodes and that is being verified. So if I run a node, where is my benefit here? I am sorry if I have brought up a previous discussion.
Before that I want to ask you if many people vote, so what is the value of one vote? The power of Bitcoin is that everyone can verify the rules themselves if they want. The more independent nodes there are, the less the network will depend on a few large services or organizations. So even if your node doesnt change the entire network, it makes you more independent in your use of Bitcoin and at the same time makes a small but real contribution to the decentralization of the network.
