All Staking do not necessarily mean Proof of Stake but all Proof of Stake are staking. Therefore, it's important to specify what kind of staking they are adopting for Bitcoin. It certainly can't be proof of stake since that will require a change in Bitcoin base code.

Proof of Stake is a consensus mechanism that places limit on the number of network participants that can fully participate in consensus. If you don't have certain amount of money, which most participants won't be able to afford, you won't be allowed to take part in full consensus. Decentralized things are not supposed to operate that way as it can lead to centralization. If you want to be truely decentralized, you should open things up for everyone to participate, which is what Bitcoin Proof of Work does. We can't afford to change that to PoS as it will contribute to the centralization of Bitcoin.

By the way, there is staking-like feature called locktime/timelock on Bitcoin, which existed before ordinary altcoin staking started, that could be repurposed for staking, or we could just use decentralized smart-escrow for slashing purposes to penalize contract breach while bitcoins are locked (and possibly earning interest)..
The main purpose of staking, as name suggests is collateral-like function, which is more common feature in loan department, that most often include Bitcoin.... and if this is the case, especially in decentralized manner, then we can rightly say that Bitcoin staking is possible today

The same shit that went down with Vitalik buterin of Ethereum? Hell no, I don't think it will ever happen, Satoshi made Bitcoin a proof of work coin because it's one of the reason why Bitcoin is Bitcoin.

It's never going to happen, don't bother comparing Vitalik to Satoshi, they are not the same person, they also don't reason the same way, I always feel like Ethereum will be the best after Bitcoin but reading about how they abandoned PoW algorithm? I don't think the same.

Ethereum would have been better with PoW algorithm today, the price action would have also been better, at the time they switched, miners around the world had to let go of their mining machines that was dedicated for ETH mining, it was the most profitable to mine at the time.
