Hello everyone. Let me encourage us a little.
Its been months since I last posted, but Ive been reading through the comments and watching the mood around the market, and honestly, I think peoplere getting a little too caught up in the short-term price action, like traders. Bitcoin has been stuck in roughly the $67,000$57,500 range in 3 months, I keep seeing people describe it as boring, weak, or even unreliable. I actually think the opposite. When you look at everything Bitcoin has had to deal with over the past months, the fact that its still sitting around $64K is impressive.
Think about what it survived this year:
- Escalations around the Strait of Hormuz which caused moves in oil prices that could have economic chain effects.
- The recent Coldcard hardware wallet security exploits, the trust on Bitcoin security, and the FUD around it.
- The huge initial ETF outflows.
- The US job reports, interest rate, and important unfavorable announcements.
- Michael Sailor breaking his no-sell promise, using Bitcoin as a source of liquidity, casting doubts on how long institutions can hold.
If it were in the early cycles, especially 2018 and 2022, these could have caused Bitcoin to fall 20% in a short time. But this time, it barely moved. It has continued to defend the $60,000 area despite the temporary year-low. That is resilience.
Institutions Keep Buying, A Sign of HopeAs retail traders wait and are complaining, the big money is quietly being accumulated by institutions, with US Spot Bitcoin ETFs bringing in over $853 million from August 3 to 7, led by BlackRocks IBIT. Also, Fed is becoming supportive of easier monetary conditions and weaker jobs data is adding to the case for rate cuts possibility. Bitcoin should benefit from the more liquidity.
My Question to the veterans here:Do you think this sideways action is shaking out impatient and overleveraged traders before a possible bullish breakout?
Bitcoin was never going to go straight up in a perfectly clean line. There are always going to be periods where the market gets tested, prices go nowhere and looks static, leverage gets liquidated, and people start wondering whether the whole thing is a losing trap. But don't get discouraged, sometimes the most interesting part of Bitcoin happens when nothing seems to be happening. Therefore, continue accumulating.
