So... who's gonna make the first big bold post here advising everyone to stop doing this bc they got burned & lost their btc to claim a shitcoin? I'm all for alts but this isn't it, man. Doesn't this exchange have scam allegations too? imo the risk is too high if u don't have any clue wtf you're doing...asking chatgpt to help you move a fork safely?!?!?! All I can see is red flags!!
If you are talking about Nexoa, I never heard of it. I wouldn't recommend it either.
Understand that if you want to gain replay protection you'll probably have to load your cold storage private keys into a Knots wallet. I find this scary even talking about it.
In my case I didn't touch any Blake2b software except for the mempool.guide explorer, and even that only ever received the signed transaction which I was broadcasting.
I didn't even need to use a seed beside loading it into the airgapped Electrum. The Electrum binary itself was a locally downloaded copy, and I PGP verified the signature and the checksum during the transfer. Private keys also never left the airgapped device either. Only the zpub went to an internet-connected device, and even then, it derived addresses that only hit
my own explorer. (This is the advantage of running your own software!
