Is worth trust in politician that says himself adept of the cryptocurrencies or is better distrust?
In the end, will they do what they always do and end up disappointing?
One thing to keep in mind: never trust politicians. They are opportunists.
They only make statements or offer support when it benefits them. They wouldn't do anything without expecting something in return. They know the public is involved in crypto. So by making pro-crypto statements, they gain goodwill and support from the crypto community.
Ultimately, if they are opportunists, we should be too. When their policies are genuinely good for crypto, we should follow and support them. After all, it could have a positive impact. But, don't trust them 100%, because there is almost certainly an ulterior motive behind it all.
