There's a saying "it's easier to believe what a snake says than what a politician says." The reality is, politicians don't work if it doesn't benefit them. They say things because it benefits them; otherwise, I don't think they'd support Bitcoin.
So, when a politician suddenly seems to support Bitcoin, I don't think they're truly supporting it for the sake of 'financial freedom' or whatever it offers. Rather, they're supporting it to gain support from crypto holders.
I can agree with you that they may not be interested in decentralization, but the statement not what it has to offer, sounds like a lie.
Im not objecting the idea that it could be to gain the interest of the bitcoin community, but the truth is; some could actually be interested in bitcoin.
But with all honesty, the fact that they might actually like it is not the reason why they are advocating it. Its typically for personal interests, and probably to be on the same side with the people. But I can still tell you for a fact that the value of bitcoin cannot be underestimated. Some has known the worth and has decided to invest in it. Like I said not for financial freedom, but to store wealth.
Yes we cannot believe this politicians anymore, but they are more predictable than a snake, so I can tell that the founder of this saying does not know the capabilities of a snake.
They only do things that benefits them I agree, but even most of us if bitcoin was worthless, we wouldnt be here.
