My point is that a trade between Lazslo and Jeremy completed in Bitcoin. What Jeremy did behind the scenes does not negate that Bitcoin was used as money for that particular trade.

If this transaction is considered barter-based, then buying electronics with EUR from Amazon.com is also considered barter, because there is an intermediary who trades the EUR for USD. But, this is obviously not the case. Both EUR and USD are media of the exchange.
You're just making my entire point!
In every single transaction, there is fiat exchanged!
The manufacturers selling the Tv for fiat, the reseller buying it for fiat, you buying it for fiat from Amazon, Amazon paying the reseller fiat!
Again and again, understand that if I pay you two bags of carrots and you buy me the TV from Amazon, you still need to use fiat!
The deal between us, trading a TV for carrots,
CAN'T EXIST without Amazon accepting your fiat!
Does Amazon accept carrots? Of course not, and it would be ridiculous to claim such a thing!
It's one thing that I give you my used phone and you give me a used laptop, this is barter, but in this scenario there as no need for a currency, in the pizza purchase, nothing would have worked without fiat! Nothing!
