Is there going to be a dump on release?
Seems like a lot of coins get dumped when news is released
It is a silly thing from the real stock market that has nothing to do with altcoins. When a company has good news it means the workers want more money, suppliers want more money, etc. so the good news can actually hurt the firm's business.
There really hasn't been a pump because there hasn't been any hype. The whales will come on the scene if the release really is something good, spread FUD, try to push down the price, etc. The usual drill if you've been in crypto a while. Best thing is to just hold on through the storm and hope things trend up.
If you're good, it is a good time to sell off and buy back in cheap but "good" means having connections, real time access to Mintpal's data stream and Wolf of Wall Street instincts to know when to buy back in because it'll be a feeding frenzy if there's more than hot air to the the devs constant claims that they'll do a rethink on digital currencies.
