Note: Explorer additions are currently suspended
After a hectic early 2017, we are reaching the limits of our current infrastructure,
back-office tools especially. So rather than jeopardizing stability of current
explorers, we are suspending addition of new explorer for Summer 2017, and we will
use that time to upgrade our back-office and automation tools.
No service interruption is planned during that suspension, and new explorers may still be added on an "exceptional" basis, or for existing blockchains explorers that fork to a new chain.
No auctions or special prices are planned, so don't ask, this is not a money matter, this is more about being able to manage more than 220 explorers safely and comfortably.
Basically our explorer infrastructure was initially designed to handle dozens of blockchains, with optimizations and regular improvements, it was made capable of handling hundreds, but the back-office tools (the administration screens you do not see, the accounting, server monitoring, setups, backups etc.) have been lagging and are now sorely lacking.
