    Dear everybody in the Bitcoin community,

    I'm currently working on my Bachelor dissertation regarding the role of Bitcoins in our currency system.
    To get an answer to the research question I need to interview people who already used Bitcoins in any kind of way.

    If you invested in Bitcoins or if you use them as an alternative to other currencies, then I would appreciate very much if you could answer the following 9 questions below or send me your answers by mail if you prefer (djamal_benadda@web.de):

    1.   How did you come across Bitcoins?


    2.    Where did you heard the first time from them?


    3.   What made you decide to get Bitcoins?


    4.   What do you use Bitcoins for?


    5.   Do you use them as a currency or as a speculation tool?


    6.   If you use Bitcoins as a currency, what was the first thing you bought with them?


    7.   What do you usually buy with Bitcoins?

    well, if users aren't interested you could probably offer some reward at least in mBTC just to stimulate them to take the survey Wink

                    Opportunity to be part of something great and possibly make a lot of money

                   Currently using it to buy alt coins

                   Currency

    6.   If you use Bitcoins as a currency, what was the first thing you bought with them?
                   Alt coins

                   Alt coins

                   Secure, slow transactions.

    9.   Do you think that Bitcoins are the future regarding our currency system?

      Not exactly sure, but I found out about them somewhere around late 2010.

    2.    Where did you heard the first time from them?
      If I remember correctly someone on some IRC told me about Bitoin.

    3.   What made you decide to get Bitcoins?
      Nothing did back then.

    4.   What do you use Bitcoins for?
      Gambling and exchanging altcoins/pump&dumps.

    5.   Do you use them as a currency or as a speculation tool?
      Somewhere in the between.

    6.   If you use Bitcoins as a currency, what was the first thing you bought with them?
      Some altcoin.

    7.   What do you usually buy with Bitcoins?
      Altcoins.

    8.   In your opinion what are the strengths and what are the weaknesses of Bitcoins?
      + Secure.
      + No hazzle.
      - Slow transactions in comparison to newer altcoins. Waiting 3+ hours for a confirmed transaction is a pain in the ass if I just want to get one little thing   done.

    9.   Do you think that Bitcoins are the future regarding our currency system?
      Bitcoin won't be. And I highly doubt any decentralized cryptocurrency would be the future either.

    I'm simply interested in the subject as I find the idea of a currency which is independent from the banking system revolutionary.
    As I have to write a dissertation anyway, why shouldnt I choose an area that grabs my attention instead of something that bores me?
    Other people that do the same course as me write about hedging and share price movements and they don't buy shares either...
    I still get your point and if I would have some money on the side I would have definetely got some first hand experience.

    sounded like fun and a great innovative way to spend money.

    Buying random things, donating to charity.

    Both

    Some Hashing power at cex.io (what a mistake ! LOL)

    There is no usual i just buy cheap random things

    Strengths: freedom with currency

    Weaknesses: high level of volatility in value, easiness to loose and lots of scammers and hackers

    9.   Do you think that Bitcoins are the future regarding our currency system?

    No, i think they will eventually be seen as an asset or possession (like gold)
