This is the reason, why some ppl (f.e. ME) don't want to change their pool onto another, and stay at
minningpoolhub since the reward type has changed.

PPLNS it's also a good option almost without operator risk, but PROP (what offers most of pools) is just terrible cause of it's hoppability.
Every pool choose it's just a miner will. IMO when the PPS pool will show up, most ppl would take it as their default. (especially low hashrate miners)
