I wouldn't qualify it as "dead" still. But I don't see it returning into the top-30 or even top-50 in the next year. Ardor/Ignis is simply the platform that continues the "spirit" behind NXT, so it will attract most of developers' and investors' attention if it achieves relevant usage.

The only advantage that NXT has is that the fees to start ICOs (or other "currency projects" involving the Monetary System or the Asset Exchange) there is pretty low (1000 NXT on the Asset exchange, but only 40 NXT in the Monetary System when using the cheapest option), while in Ardor it's significantly higher. This could lead to an equilibrium; if Ardor asset issuing fees went too high then more people would choose the NXT blockchain instead and NXT prices could then increase again because of the higher activity.

Honestly, I'm a bit shocked how well nxt price held up (and recovered recently), after the screenshot. If this didn't kill it, it won't die anytime soon.
