I'm honestly shocked that that many people are searching Bitcoin after this.
The funny part is, the first thing they see when they find this forum and start browsing it is all of us talking about the TV show.

Nice uptick in downloads:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/bitcoin/files/stats/timeline
It's only 7 am in the Pacific timezone and today is already the best day this year for downloads
I know this because Tyler knows this.

Jason Biggs showed America what a webcam could do in American Pie (1999) why not trust him about BTC too?

One of the main articles is this one:
http://blog.collins.net.pr/2012/01/bit-coin-good-wife.html
The article mentions this thread:

and this post in that thread:

I'm still shocked that so many people would be inclined to search "bit coin." though many of them won't likely buy any bitcoins or even get involved in the community, I still think that awareness will eventually get us some press.

66% increase in downloads... Not a whole hill of beans, but a lot of those "normal" downloads are probably people redownloading the client who already know about it. The 66% increase is bound to be all people who have never touched Bitcoins before..!

Right, the Wikipedia stats! Why didn't I think of this?
Impressive spike there, really. They mostly don't come to discuss it, but reading up on it seems to be mandatory. Nice.

One gawker article made a bubble of $32. I'm sure The Good Wife has a much larger audience than that one gawker article.

well, Chuck Schumer saying "you can buy drugs with bitcoins" had a share of that run to $30 too

True, true. Though Chuck Schumer's audience is also pretty small, I hope.

The interesting thing is that the forum stats for the last day have been completely typical.
