You used to be able to depend on LTC as a multiplier for BTC.  It went up or down more than BTC itself did.  But now it's kinda stuck in the mud, and none of the other cryptos have really replaced it yet.

If we saw another bubble-sized rally, though, I think the leading cryptos would rise even faster than BTC, as happened last November.

but how can government prohibit using anon altcoins? It lasted several years to close down Silkroad - but it was 1 shop and 1 man DPR (and he was caught only because he made human "faults" and paid that murder - if he wouldnot do such stupidities, I think they could catch him...)
And if tens of thousands or even million of people will be using anon altcoins in US and tens of million worldwide how can you prohibit it?
In short term probably yes but not very precisely but in longer term like years you cannot destroy anon altcoins.
I think it is not ch.porn or this stuff and people are not blind, all people who are already using anon altcoins now would be maybe even more enthusiastic then if somebody/government tries to criminalize it.
Sure it would have impact on price, price would get down but I than I and surely many other people would start buying it because I believe in coins like VRC.

Well when I think about this, I guess anon devs would have opportunity since nobody knows them. But VRC devs will be easy to trace so they will be first who would be harmed by some kind of regulations and thus such coin might be very volatile in price....

BTC is the same like windows - its a piece of shit but everybody uses it everyday so you must as well. Masses don't use Linux or Esperanto but windows and English.

the only reason is that BTC was here as first. I think most innovations can be incorporated and implemented backwards to bitcoin even it will be a huge pain like downloading windows updates everyday. but I think you cannot do anything with this.

Bad, bad, bad is anon in real world. Ok maybe good for thieves, and criminals. More people, devs, hacker scam and steal in crypto world. More people want anon, really?
Wouldn't you like those boys can be traced, prosecuted and arrested. If you have nothing to hide and have good intention why anon?. You can for sure use TOR if you want.
But really, i would like those people being caught and doing jail time if they  scam and steal in crypto.
Would you like those whales, P&D teams and market manipulators being removed from crypto market. Let them try doing that in real market, they will be like Madoff doing jail.

To get crypto currency to financial institutions all over the world, it need's to be regulated and protected.


You can't ask for anon and at the same time cry about whales, scamers, p&d group. You want them to hide and never to be found even more.

Anon it's just a hype word, when this thing sings out in couple of months, some new thing somebody will give crypto, will be the next hype. Two years we are having hype words, as best new thing. Nobody even remembers what was the hype word 6 month's ago.

Correct, since this is a long term coin I use the 2 hr chart, that clearly shows a steady upwards price correction. It's actually a beautiful thing.

It's going to take a long while before BTC loses that particular stigma. I guarantee that most of you, when asking someone if they know about Bitcoin, have received a similar answer.

Patrick has already pointed out that there really is little interest in the Anon functionality of VRC and other coin devs are declaring the same thing about their Anon services. Most definitely under-used.

Optionally anonymous transactions, fine, but there is little desire for full-time-anonymous payment systems, apart from the doom-mongers who perpetually believe that Obama's coming for them with FEMA 're-education' camps and/or that the NWO, Illuminati, intergalactic shape-shifting super-lizards, are out to enslave us all for turning our backs on the Bronze-age equivalent of Harry Potter.

So you're basically talking about the crazies and the bad guys wanting full-time-anon.

To gain widespread acceptance and adoption, by business, as well as individuals, you need to avoid the associations with the 'dark side' of cryptocurrency. Besides which, there are going to be times when you want to prove that a transaction took place, which isn't going to be possible on full-time-anon coin systems, if they are truly anon that is.

Sorry, what do you mean by that? Everything can be checked trough the blockchain, even a full anonymous coin. The main reason i want currency to be anonymous, so they can not build a profile anymore around a particular person. And yes, perhaps i want to buy drugs with my crypto currency. Who cares?
